Beta Phi Wins Peterson Award

Quick update from the Grand Praetor on Beta Phi chapter. Despite the arrival of Covid-19 in the spring, the chapter won a Peterson Award. The award requires hitting metric benchmarks in every area of chapter operations. It has been several years since a Peterson was awarded to Beta Phi and the past several officer groups have successfully moved the chapter in a positive direction.

The current officer group should continue this upward trajectory.

Over the summer, UofA shifted to online recruitment for the fall.  The chapter pivoted exceptionally well and has already secured what looks to be a very solid pledge class. Their process performed so well that when other campuses shifted to virtual recruitment, many chapters reached out for advice and implemented similar recruiting processes. The pledge class got filled months before traditional rush would normally have occurred and consequently some quality prospective new members arrived too late in the process, including several legacy and alumni recommended young men. We encourage these students to hit the books, have a good fall in the classroom and come through in spring.

We now have, on the ground in Tucson, over ten local alumni serving on a chapter advisory board. Two final things. Mark you 2021 calendars for Grand Chapter in Scottsdale June 24-27th. And Homecoming 2021 will be our chapter’s 100-year anniversary…great things ahead!
