Robert M. (Bob) Dempster

Brother Bob Dempster, Beta Phi ’59, died on Dec. 24, 2012 in Prescott, Ariz. He was 75.

Bob was born in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on April 23, 1936, and moved to Benson, Ariz., where he attended Benson High School. He attended Eastern Arizona Junior College and then transfer to Arizona where he played baseball.

Upon graduation from UA with a bachelor’s degree, he joined the Air Force and National Air Guard Reserves. In 1960, he began his employment with Chevron U.S.A. in marketing, devoting 35 years to the company. In 1990, they were transferred to Prescott, Ariz., where he was a fuel and lube engineer for Chevron's western mining operations.

He retired in 1995. He is survived by his wife, Judie, of 47 years; sons Kevin Dempster of Yucaipa, Calif., Kurt Dempster of La Quinta, Calif.; and daughter Kathi Dwyer of Phoenix.
