S. Jack McDuff '51 Enters Chapter Eternal

It is with a heavy heart we share that Sigma Chi's 50th Grand Consul, Order of Constantine Sig and Significant Sig Jack McDuff, ARIZONA 1951, entered the Chapter Eternal today at the age of 98. Jack had just celebrated his 80th anniversary of being a Sigma Chi, having been initiated into the Beta Phi chapter at the University of Arizona on December 10, 1944. Among Brother McDuff's extensive and loyal service to Sigma Chi were his term as a Magister in the chapter, decades of service to Beta Phi in myriad roles as an alumnus, countless roles on various fraternity committees and volunteer positions, longstanding service on the Sigma Chi Foundation Board, his service as Grand Pro Consul from 1977-79, and his term as Grand Consul from 1979-81.
In recognition of his accomplishments, service, and generosity, the Fraternity presented him with countless Certificates of Appreciation and Grand Consul's Citations over the years, inducted him into the Order of Constantine in 1976, recognized him with the Significant Sig Award in 1983, inducted him into the 150th anniversary Hall of Fame in 2005, and recognized him as an inaugural member of the Founders' Circle (which recognizes those brothers with substantial lifetime charitable giving, have planned an estate gift for Sigma Chi, and were inducted in the Order of Constantine).
Jack also gave to numerous other causes that were dear to him. He was a longtime contributor and supporter of the Southern Arizona YMCA and was inducted into their hall of fame. He established an engineering scholarship at his alma mater and was also inducted into the UA Hall of Fame in 2017.
As we celebrate the life of 50th Grand Consul Jack McDuff, please join us in that time-honored tradition as we send him farewell greetings on his journey to the Chapter Eternal: All Honor to His Name.
Funeral Services for Brother S. Jack Mcduff will be held 5/21 at 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle at 5150 N Valley View Rd, Tucson, AZ 85718. Reception following the memorial service at the Parrish Hall.
