Meet Our Undergrads

Avery Mlicki '24

My name is Avery Mlicki and I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Growing up I played hockey and baseball my entire life. I currently spend as much time as I can golfing, skiing, or on a boat on Lake Michigan. I am currently a rising Junior expected to graduate in 2024. I recently completed my first semester at the Eller College of Management where I am pursuing a double major in Finance and Entrepreneurship and a minor in Global Business. After college I plan on pursuing a career in investment banking with the intent of eventually getting my Masters. Since Arriving on campus, I have tried to become as involved as possible. Last year I joined Eller E.L.I.T.E, the Investments Club, and Sigma Chi. Since joining Sigma Chi, I have used my deep rooted interest in math and finance to win the role as Questor my Freshman year. After completing my year long term, I have recently been elected as the Pro Consul. This year I have also joined the Financial Modeling Club as well as the Wall Street Scholars Program to pursue my desire to become an Investment Banker. Being the first person in my family to join a fraternity, I never truly understood the meaning behind it. I am so grateful to have the support system and guidance within this house. My goal is to give back as much to the house as it has given me. Since joining Sigma Chi I have grown so much as a person and I am beyond lucky to have a lifelong group of brothers. I have enjoyed every second of my time thus far at the University of Arizona, and I am excited to see what the future holds.

Will Barbera '24

My name is Will Barbera, I am currently a rising junior at the University of Arizona and am on track to graduate in May of 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology. I am originally from Italy, but I grew up in Denver, Colorado. My dream is to become an orthopedic surgeon and to open my own practice treating and attending to athletes’ injuries. In the past two years on campus, I have had the privilege of being part of several amazing extracurricular and volunteer activities on campus. Since freshman year, I have been a part of the Medical Device Club, learning and exploring the nuances surrounding the design and expectations of new medical devices. Outside of the classroom, I also hold the title of back-to-back defending champion for competitive 5v5 Intramural Basketball, while playing softball, soccer, and football when I can. Sigma Chi stood out to me because of the emphasis on holding my brothers and myself to a higher set of morals and values. I’ve seen myself grow in unimaginable ways simply just from being a part of this organization. As a member of the Beta Phi chapter, I have served as our Health Advocate, Scholarship chairman, and currently hold the position of Philanthropy Chairman and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Chairman. Having set a school record this past year of fundraising over $50,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, I plan to continue to strive to set new heights for Beta Phi philanthropy with our annual Derby Days philanthropy week. I stay so strongly involved in Beta Phi because of the opportunities it has presented for me, and because of how much I have seen myself mature since pledging Sigma Chi. The morals and foundations that I had set for myself coming into college were only exemplified and strengthened through the teachings of Sigma Chi, and will follow me for the rest of my life. In my free time, I love spending time with my friends and family, watching Denver Nuggets and Broncos games, and trying any and every food.
