Jerry Tolle '55 Enters Chapter Eternal

Brother Jerry Tolle, Beta Phi ’55, business entrepreneur and University of Arizona baseball player, died recently. He was 88. 

He had pitched Tucson High School to state championship in 1951 and ’52 and earned All-State honors. He attended the UA and pledged Beta Phi in 1951. He graduated with a degree in secondary education and teaching. 

Brother Tolle joined Brother Frank Sancet’s NCAA powerhouse baseball team in the mid-1950s. An injured elbow ended his career but he became an top amateur golfer, winning the 1963 Randolph Men’s Club championship and won several Citizen Cup championships. He also one of Tucson’s top bowlers. 

He owned the business J & J Enterprises. 

Brother Tolle was inducted into the Pima County Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
