Lawrence Linson Enters Chapter Eternal

Brother Lawrence P. Linson, a former state champion tennis player, mining executive, and in his later years a mortician, died August 14, 2015 of cancer. He was 55 years years old.

He was born July 26, 1960 in San Manuel, Arizona, graduated from Flowing Wells High School in 1978 as a state tennis champion, and enrolled at the University of Arizona where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and Russian, and then a master’s in Russian. He pledged Sigma Chi in 1978.

Brother Linson was proud to be the first member of his family to graduate from college.  While attending the UA he had several jobs to help pay for his schooling. He worked alongside his father at Duval Copper Mine where his father had worked in management for many years. His career started with modular mining systems.

He was the founding member of Tucson Kino Rotary Club serving as secretary and president was a member of Rotary International. He was also on the board of Arizona Youth Partnership and served as president in 2010. I

In later years Brother Linson had a successful career in the funeral industry where he met his wife Elizabeth. They founded Sierra Vista Cremation and Burial Chapel in Sierra Vista, Arizona. He is survived by his wife; parents, Joann and Lawrence Paul Linson Sr.; sister, Kathy Villalobos; daughter, Madeleine M. Linson, all of Tucson.

A funeral was held August 22, 2015 in Sierra Vista and Tucson.
