John Woodbury Enters Chapter Eternal

John Hettinger Woodbury, ‘56, who worked in the home construction business, entered Chapter Eternal on Feb. 22, 2018. He was 83.

He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 11, 1934, where he attended W. C. Bryant and Pembroke Country Day School, class of 1952, where he lettered in four major sports. College began at the University of Arizona, where he joined Sigma Chi, and then onto the University of Kansas.

Brother Woodbury started building houses and apartments in Lawrence, Kansas, and homes and chalets in Colorado. Moving to Southern California in 1976, he gravitated to custom woodworking: designing and building entertainment centers, kitchens, beams, paneling and many other specialties. He never wanted to retire and worked full-time for Woodbury Construction Co., Costa Mesa, California, until he died...

Brother Woodbury is survived by his three children, his brother Tom, and two grandchildren.
