Brother Frank White Enters Chapter Eternal

Brother Frank E. White, Beta Phi ’63, a former consul, a Hall of Honor inductee and land developer in Southern California, died Aug. 26, 2015, in Camarillo, California, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 76.

Brother White was born on Dec. 30, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah, moving at a young age to West Lafayette, Indiana before settling in San Bernardino, California where he attended Pacific High School and went to San Bernardino Valley College for two years. He finished his college education at the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.

He pledged Sigma Chi in the fall of 1960. He met his wife, Linda, on a blind date at the UA. She later became a Sweetheart of Sigma Chi.  They married upon graduation in 1963. Their two sons are Sigma Chis and a daughter was a Little Sister of Sigma Chi. On his induction into the Hall of Honor in 2005, Brother White said the fraternity had been a “true foundation of my family. The relationships we built in college have enabled us, collectively and individually, to maintain strong relationships in our professional lives.”

Brother White moved to Phoenix in 1963 where he had a job as a pharmacist at Dale Drug Co., which he later purchased. He lived in Phoenix until 1979, when he decided to change careers.  He moved the family to California and he went into business with his brother, Dave White. They ran Ag Land Services, an agriculture management company and Realty Services, an agricultural real estate company the next 30 years. He also was a partner with his brother in Plaza Development Partners.

In Phoenix, Frank was active in the Arizona Pharmaceutical Association and the Phoenix Thunderbirds. He was active in Camarillo in the 1980s, serving as president of the Chamber of Commerce and on the Boys and Girls Club board. He was also a member of the Rotary Club, Ventura County Economic Development Association, Rancheros Adolfo, the Ventura County Game Preserve and Las Posas Country Club.

In addition of his wife of 52 years, he leaves sons Greg of Phoenix, Todd White of Ventura, California, and daughter Sally London of Redondo Beach, California. He is also survived by three grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.

A celebration of Brother White’s life will be Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. at Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo. The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Camarillo Boys and Girls Club in Brother White’s name.
